Concept:
Joan hears God’s voice and is called to save France through three saints: Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Catherine of Alexandria, and Saint Margaret of Antioch. This section celebrates the pomp and glory of the medieval high church. Full members costume as medieval priests, bishops, nuns, monks, and abbesses in attendance on the three saints.
Full member costumes:
Full members costume as medieval priests, bishops, nuns, monks, and abbesses in attendance on the three saints. Most full members wear coordinated but individually unique high church costumes with tabards with “icon” images of St. Michael, St. Catherine and St. Margaret. Costuming as specific characters related to Joan’s faith story is also an option. Contact Captain Amanda for help getting one of these costumes, or to pitch a different relevant costume idea.
Music:
St. Michael’s Angel Army Choir singing lively medieval sacred music with drums, horns and finger cymbals, under the direction of opera chorus singer and medieval music expert Claudia Copeland. (Full members CAN choose to sing with this choir, but no singing is required to be in this section!)
Props:
Giant cloud (St. Michael), giant wheel (St. Catherine), giant dragon (St. Margaret), incense, stained glass windows
