Concept:
The city of Orléans, France, celebrated the victory feast after Joan’s first victory on May 8, 1429, when she broke the siege of the English and saved the people of Orléans from starving. A great victory banquet was celebrated.
Full member costumes:
Full members costume as medieval people of all kinds — middle class, upper class, peasants, lord and ladies, etc. You can also choose to develop a specific character from this part of Joan’s history.
Signature throw: We encourage members in this section to give real, fresh iconic French-style large baguettes, as well as other throws highlighting foods the French have been known for since medieval times: cheese, wine and bread and other elements of a medieval feast.
Music:
Recorded medieval style music with a mix of lively authentic medieval dance and party music and “bardcore” medieval-style covers of popular songs familiar to the crowd, such as “I will survive” “We are the champions” and “Low” by Flo-Rida. Medieval dancing is welcome!
Props:
New props are planned for this year which will be oversized medieval feast tables with banners proclaiming the Orlléans victory feast. The city residents (Orléans battalion members) are behind the Gates of Orléans wall prop, and the knights battalion is in front of it. The French delegation, including the official Orléans “Joan” will be at the end of the Victory feast, wearing a red and green gown that is a replica of the gown the medieval town of Orléans gifted Joan to wear to the real victory feast.
