New for 2017! Fresh sprigs of fragrant rosemary tied with a ribbon and card. Small bundles of herbs or flowers were among the most commonly exchanged favors or tokens in medieval times. Our tests showed that the rosemary stays nice and fresh in a cup of water for over a week, and stays fresh out of water for at least 12 hours, so you’ll be able to pick up your rosemary at our annual New Year’s workshop January 2 in a cup of water, and it will still be fresh, green and fragrant to hand out on the parade route no matter how early you leave for the parade! NOTE: This fresh, locally grown, organic throw MUST be picked up at the January 2nd workshop, no exceptions, no shipping. The card design copies an authentic medieval border. It reads “Rosemary for Remembrance: Posies of herbs or flowers were common tokens of affection in medieval times, with specific plants representing specific sentiments. Remember Joan of Arc on her 605th birthday, January 6, 2017” and includes the krewe logo. The back of the card reads “This rosemary was grown by Agrowtopia, Xavier University of Louisiana’s student-run urban farm.”
