- Consult with krewe leaders to portray a specific character from Joan’s story in the parade (see our parade overview and characters wanted for ideas)
- Have your character included on our official krewe collectible playing cards or doubloons designed by Amanda Helm
- Whenever possible, we will strive to match your costume and the card/doubloon image, so it helps for us to help you plan your costume and the card/doubloon images at the same time.
- Included:
- one set of your choice of 300 custom doubloons or 300 custom playing cards;
- consultation with krewe leaders to select your character and plan your costume;
- listing your character in the photo directory and other krewe materials;
- battalion assignment consistent with your character.
- NOT included: your costume.
There is no requirement to be a character. Most krewe members portray an unnamed character from 1400s France. Knights will be in the Lady’s Knights battalion, peasants will be in the Domrémy battalion, and nobles will be in the Orléans battalion.
There is no charge for thinking of yourself as a specific character. Any krewe member may imagine a specific character from Joan’s history, may use that character as an inspiration for his or her costume and throws, may be assigned to a battalion fitting that character, and may be labeled in the photo directory as representing that character (just let Amanda know about your character). However, we do strongly encourage krewe members NOT to portray characters that are already “taken” by another krewe member. The charge above is for consulting with leaders and getting custom doubloons or playing cards.
