- Plywood is layered and pressed to form a half-inch curved shield

- The authentic shield would have been covered with canvas, and then the coat of arms would be painted on the canvas. Our shield logo is based on a photo of an actual canvas-covered shield complete with battle scars. Our “real shield” has a custom printed fabric canvas of our logo hand stretched (75-100 tacks!), glued and sealed instead of hand painted.
- Add a couple of coats of Helmsman’s marine varnish if you are going to hang it outside!
