Volunteer Foot Soldiers needed
We need everyone’s help to recruit more foot soldiers! Our “Foot Soldier” members wear simple medieval costumes provided by the krewe and make our parade possible by carrying banners, shepherding props, and walking security. Please share the foot soldier sign-up link with your social networks: https://forms.gle/fdRPJCB2AnakAd189.
Full members, being a foot soldier is a nice free way for friends to parade with you. Have them list your name and parade section on the last question of the form, and we will make every effort to assign friends together.
Foot soldiers, if you’ve already signed up, you should have received an email and/or text message with costume pick-up details. You can also find all the costume pick-up dates with details on our calendar.
Throws and Props Workshops
We’ll have people working on both props and throws as we work hard to finish our amazing new Blessing Joan giant puppet in time for the parade, as well as to complete all our signature throws in time for delivery at the first throws pick-up date, the coronation party. Besides helping us get ready, these workshops are a great way to get to know other krewe members, bounce ideas, show off your own krewe projects, and get questions answered. These workshops are at the home of Captain Amanda and her cat 7330 Sycamore (map)
Workshops:
- 6-9 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 3
- 1-6 p.m. Saturday Dec. 7
- 1-6 p.m. Sunday Dec. 8
- More workshops on our calendar.
Coronation Party Monday Dec. 9
Be part of the building excitement at the krewe’s annual coronation party, as we reveal our 2025 King Charles VII, Queen Yolande of Aragon, and Maid of Honor, the young student leader who portrays Joan of Arc on horseback in our parade. This feels like the kick-off to our parade social season, as we’ll enjoy medieval-inspired hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar and share krewe news. It’s at the Degas House (2306 Esplanade, map), where the French impressionist painter Edgar Degas stayed with his New Orleans family. Dress: holiday bling or krewe colors blue and gold (not costumes). Pre-order now to pick up your throws or keepsakes at the party. We’ll also have a krewe store open at the party for in-person purchases. Please do keep in mind that most throws WILL sell out before the parade, so don’t wait too long to get your order in.
Thanks to our former King David Villarubia for donating us the use of the charming Degas House venue, and to krewe member Cathy Rehfus-Wilsek and her team for contributing the handmade food!
