Reminder: Workshop Sunday, Party Tuesday, Early Bird Membership

Coming Up….

Throws Workshop Sunday, May 28, 1-4 p.m.

Come craft with us at the home of krewe captain Amanda Helm at 7330 Sycamore St. All skill levels are welcome and all supplies will be provided. These are a great way to connect with other krewe members, get your questions answered, show off your own krewe projects, and bounce ideas. Note: Due to street “construction” in the area, it works best to come down Lowerline from Claiborne. The house is on the corner of Lowerline and Sycamore, two blocks off Claiborne (map). Next workshops: May 28, June 25, July 23.

Feast Day Party Tuesday May 30

Each year, krewe members gather to honor St. Joan of Arc on the day of her death, May 30. New this year, we’ll gather at 6:30 p.m. at the beautiful St. Mary Chapel (in the Old Ursuline Convent) for a short verspers service in Joan’s honor. Then around 6:45, we’ll walk together as a procession two blocks to the Joan of Arc statue. Dress in white and bring flowers to lay at the statue.

Around 7 p.m., we’ll take our party across the street to Frank’s Italian restaurant (933 Decatur, map). Frank’s has reserved the upstairs room for us, with the balcony looking out on the Joan of Arc statue, and you can each order for yourselves on separate checks from the regular Frank’s menu.  We’ll share some krewe news at Frank’s, but mostly we’ll just be socializing.

Prospective members are welcome!  This is a great kick-off for friends thinking of joining. Here’s a link to the Facebook event if you want to invite people that way.
