Handheld Banner 20-pk
- Description
A historically accurate replica of Joan's banner, sized for the crowd to wave as we parade by. Printed in vivid color on waterproof, tear-resistant paper. The paper has a smooth polished finish, stiff enough to stand up, yet thin enough to wave. Captain Amanda tested this by literally soaking it under the faucet, and, lo and behold, it really IS waterproof and strong enough for kids to play with. 11" long banner on a 12" long stick. Printed on both sides, and in small print on the back it reads "The banner of Joan of Arc, as specified by her Voices."
No images of Joan's banner exist from her time, but we do have many verbal descriptions of it. Here's one from 1429: "she carries also a white standard on which Our Triune Lord holds in one hand the world and the other is raised in blessing. On each side (of Christ) is an angel who presents Him a fleurs de lys, as the symbol of the kings of France"
