COVID-19 Plans for year-round activities

Since parades and large gatherings are prohibited during the pandemic, Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc exhibited a live in-person Tableaux de Jeanne d’Arc, on Wednesday January 6.  Members of the public purchased tickets to drive through and view the Tableaux, which included live, in-person but socially distant performances by our usual musicians and performance groups.  To sustain our year-round activities and ongoing expenses, we ask members to purchase a “Yeoman” non-parading membership for $50 for the 2021-2022 year.

  • We plan to continue our year-round activities as best we can during the pandemic, including celebrations for Joan’s Feast Day May 30 and our annual Salon de Jeanne d’Arc conference in September.
  • Between our year-round activities, unavoidable expenses like the storage unit, and extra expenses to adapt our walking parade to a stationary tableaux, we expect our total budget to be comparable to our usual budget even without the parade, while many of our fundraising opportunities such as throw sales will be significantly reduced.

A pandemic may be a little TOO authentically medieval!
