Book Club: The Maid and The Queen discussion Nov. 11

Join us for a lively discussion Saturday Nov. 11, 10-11:30 a.m. at the Rosa F. Keller Library (4300 S. Broad, map) — you’ll have fun and learn something even if you haven’t read the book. The Joan of Arc Book Club will discuss The Maid and The Queen, the fascinating story of the relationship between Joan and Queen Yolande, the power behind the throne.

“The Maid and the Queen” author Nancy Goldstone visited New Orleans to speak at our Salon back in 2014 soon after this book came out. Check out this 2014 radio interview with Susan Larson, our founder Amy Kirk Duvoisin, and author Nancy Goldstone discussing the book and its influence on our parade as a preview for the 2014 Salon.

Next up for the book club: March 2 we’ll be discussing historical text The Hundred Years War, and June 1 we’ll be discussing the fiction novel Smoke City. Get your books from Frenchmen Art and Books. Book club details on our website.
